Signed for ABBA / ATS Formula One Team (ABBA being successful global musical band) along with Dutch F1 driver Jan Lammers (pictured left). Slim’s first Grand Prix was the Italian Grand Prix at Imola (San Marino) where he qualified 26th and finished 13th overall (pictured left). After the San Marino Grand Prix the team decided to run only one car and Slim became the sole driver for the ABBA/ATS team. At the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Slim finished 6th overall scoring the first World Championship Point in over three years for the team (This was the first and only World Championship Point in F1 scored by the tyre manufacturer AVON) |

Only one race this year, the Macau Grand Prix in Formula 3 in a hired Ralt F3. Qualifying on the front row of the Grid, Slim led the race in front of Johansson, Thackwell, Guerrero, Dumfries, Pirro, Ferte, Nielsen and others, when the race was red flagged. At the restart gearbox trouble left Slim stranded on the line with a stripped first gear, getting away 31st. Slim finished 6th overall in one of his best races ever |
1985 |

Joined the RCR/International Formula 3000 Team and drove three races in a none competitive car (A converted Arrows with Formula One chassis). He was invited by Stan Williamson to drive a Bedford Detroit Diesel V6 race truck at Silverstone, Donnington and Mantorp Park in the European ETRA Championship. Slim joined the West Coast Diesel, Truck Racing Team. (Mansfield, UK). He then went on to designed & developed the Race Truck for the 1986 European Championship and signed a 3 year sponsorship deal with Mobil Oil Company (pictured left) |

Overall Winner FIA European Super Truck Championship and was driving for the Mercedes/Tiger Dehnhardt Racing Team. He then became Chief Engineer for Team Lux / Shell in Formula Asia (Malaysia), working with fellow Swedish driver. Slim has also had close working relations with several leading shock-absorber manufacturers like Koni, Penske, Sachs, Intrax and Ohlin and has extreme good knowledge in this area, with “Car tuning & set-up” as speciality |

Slim won 2nd in class driving an Radical SR8 in the Radical European Masters Series together with Ernst Kirchmeier, Catalunia, Spain and continued as Overseas Distribution Manager for Radical Sportscars.
